About Us

Why punelocaltime.com exists and how the Pune-Lonavala local train time tables here are put together.

Every weekday, tens of thousands of people ride the Pune–Lonavala suburban line: students heading to Chinchwad and Akurdi, factory and IT workers commuting between Pune and Pimpri, and weekend travellers climbing to Lonavala and Khandala. What almost none of them have is a time table that loads in a second on a patchy mobile connection.

That is the whole reason this site exists.

What we do differently

  • Real HTML tables, not photographs of a PDF. You can search them, copy a time out of them, and read them on a phone without pinch-zooming.
  • Timings for every station, not just the two ends. If you board at Kanhe or Ghorawadi, you should not have to guess.
  • A next-train countdown. Open the site, and it tells you what is leaving your station next, right now.
  • It works without a signal. Once you have opened the site, the time tables stay available on your phone even in the ghat section where the network drops.
  • No login, no app install, no tracking of individuals.

Where our data comes from

Origin and destination timings are taken from the Central Railway public suburban time table and checked against the departure boards at Pune Junction and Lonavala. Timings for intermediate stations are calculated from those anchors and the chainage of the line, and are labelled approximate wherever that is the case.

If you spot a timing that is wrong, please tell us — corrections from regular commuters are the fastest way this site improves.
