About Kanhe station

Kanhe is a small rural halt in open country between Vadgaon and Kamshet, and it has acquired a particular following among cyclists and motorcyclists from Pune, who take the train out with a bike and ride back through the Maval villages. There is very little at the station itself, which is a large part of the appeal.

The roads around Kanhe Phata run through farmland and low hills towards Pawna lake, and they are quiet enough to be genuinely pleasant. On weekend mornings you will often see more bicycles on the platform than passengers.

Worth knowing before you travel

If you are travelling with a bicycle, buy the appropriate luggage ticket at the counter before boarding. Enforcement on this stretch is routine, and the ticket costs far less than the penalty.
