About Talegaon station

Talegaon Dabhade is the most important intermediate station on the line and the terminus of the short-working services that run only this far. It is a fast-growing satellite town with its own industrial belt, a substantial floriculture sector supplying flowers to Mumbai and beyond, and a large population commuting to Chakan and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The town has real history behind the recent growth. The Dabhade family were prominent Maratha military commanders in the eighteenth century, and the old wada in the town centre is a reminder that this was a place of consequence long before the industrial estates arrived.

Worth knowing before you travel

Talegaon is the turning point for several Pune-side services. If you are heading further towards Lonavala, check the destination on the board — not every train from Pune goes the whole way, and the short-workings terminate here.

When the station is busy

Used all day rather than only at peak, which is unusual on this line and reflects how much of the local economy now sits between Talegaon and Chakan.
